February’s Celebration Cakes and Bakes Roundup

Late again but here is my round-up of February’s Celebration Cakes and Bakes. There were some lovely entries this month, first were my very own Cookie Companion Cubes filled with home made chocolate hearts filled with a peach flavoured truffle.

Next was a brilliantly inventive secret snow leopard cake from Something about Clairey which she made for her son who loves snow leopards. The amount of time she must have spent creating the spots inside the cake is amazing.

The lovely Jenny from Mummy Mishaps joined in again this month with a beautiful birthday cake for her friend who’s favourite colour is green. I’m sure she was happy with the cake as it has 3 different greens inside the layers as well as white chocolate cigars around the outside and green chocolate curls on top!

Another regular contributor is Tracey from Dilsy Does with some gorgeous looking heart shaped meringes that would be perfect for anyone’s Valentine. I love meringue and would even go so far as to say that this type of dessert is my favourite. The only problem is I wouldn’t want to share!

Finally Kirsty from Hijacked by twins made a fabulous Micky Mouse Clubhouse themed cake for her twins’ second birthday. Not only does it have the clubhouse in fondant on the top, it has hidden Mickys inside made of chocolate sponge. There’s nothing like using a favourite character for young kiddies birthdays and apparently the twins didn’t stop saying “Clubhouse cake”.

Thank you all for joining in – March’s Celebration Cakes and Bakes is now open for business, any Mothers day cakes, St. David’s day cakes, or indeed any celebration cakes are more than welcome!
